Let it snow....

OK it's white, it's pretty and it's cold, but does that really mean that the whole of the country has to grind to a stop....yes, it seems it does! hurrah :-) Jeff has reverted back to childhood checking the window every 10 minutes to see if the world has completely stopped. He's soo cheesed off that it hasn't. Yet!

Anyhow enough of this weather trivia, back to the 'real world'...Fishbone news.

Cristina's show has had to be postponed until later in the year - and so we are now in the process of sourcing new artists for the April slot - an opportune meeting with Frieda Van de Poll, who showed us her latest work allowed us to book the light gallery and stairwell with her 'Feast of Beasts' exhibition - more information on this once we have confirmed definite dates. The original reason behind the meeting was to discuss an installation for the new year, the work of which is still in development.

Last Friday's Coventry Telegraph had yet another double page spread of the latest Fishbone exhibition - rock on, Telegraph!!

And finally... for those of you reading this with any kind of soul - to let you know (and pity me) my faithful yet troubled washing machine has finally gone kaput. I spent the whole weekend in the laundry - 8 loads (I kid you not) the owner of the place ended up supplying coffee and cakes I was in there so long - so much for the glamorous world of art.

all for now....Judy

Fishbone Gallery

Longford, Coventry, United Kingdom
The Fishbone Gallery is something of a rarity. A gallery committed to promoting the diversity of the visual arts of the West Midlands, that supports new artists and encourages them to show work that otherwise might not receive the attention it deserves. We are not primarily a profit making enterprise, and therefore we can afford to show experimental work that would never gain proper exposure through commercial channels. We also host a wide range of community projects and events, clubs and classes, run by specialist practitioners with thorough knowledge of their particular disciplines. We welcome all people of all ages and all cultural backgrounds, to come along and be part of what we do. Our mission is to make art and art practise an integral part of the lives of the people of Longford, and to encourage a broader audience for the visual arts in Coventry and the West Midlands. The gallery is run by Judy Kay and Jeff Hatt
