Back from the Avon

Hi

Jeff and I managed to get away for a couple of days recently - Jeff for fishing and me for not thinking about anything vital.  Kate & Kev came along for one night and even though it poured down, we decided to stay over for two more - there's something quite very therapeutic about being stuck in a tent looking out the rain especially with a couple bottles of vino. Am glad to say the tent and our very ingenious awning did not collapse under the strain of the mid summer monsoon.

Jeff was very happy as he managed to catch a 'beautiful best' of a 9lb Barbel  and Kev' who hasn't angled for over 12 years caught 8 different types of fishes - Kate has the evidence on film so photo's are a coming...
Kate and I went off the Stratford and found a great new Italian Cafe, great food & atmosphere.

Meanwhile back at the ranch Jo Powers has been busy (to say the least) installing her piece for the next exhibition.  Not only has she done this, but along with others has completely repainted the whole of the gallery, still light upstairs and dark downstairs, come along this Thursday for the private view to see the results.

Jeff off to London today for 2 weeks work, so lots of time to myself...so not more time for this.

See you on Thursday at PV.

Judy

Fishbone Gallery

My photo
Longford, Coventry, United Kingdom
The Fishbone Gallery is something of a rarity. A gallery committed to promoting the diversity of the visual arts of the West Midlands, that supports new artists and encourages them to show work that otherwise might not receive the attention it deserves. We are not primarily a profit making enterprise, and therefore we can afford to show experimental work that would never gain proper exposure through commercial channels. We also host a wide range of community projects and events, clubs and classes, run by specialist practitioners with thorough knowledge of their particular disciplines. We welcome all people of all ages and all cultural backgrounds, to come along and be part of what we do. Our mission is to make art and art practise an integral part of the lives of the people of Longford, and to encourage a broader audience for the visual arts in Coventry and the West Midlands. The gallery is run by Judy Kay and Jeff Hatt
